In 2026, Top Gun celebrates 40 years since the aviation drama first soared into theatres in 1986. The film follows Maverick, a gifted fighter pilot, as he confronts fierce rivalries, personal loss and the challenge of proving himself at the elite Top Gun school. Its legacy was reignited with Top Gun: Maverick in 2022, which earned a Best Picture nomination.

The coin's reverse portrays the iconic Top Gun logo in the centre with the words '40 YEARS' below, set against a cloudy sky. The obverse bears the Jody Clark effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, with the coin's weight, fineness, monetary denomination and 2026 year-date.

Packaging: Housed in a paper card that lets the coin pop in and out easily, presented in a designed paper sleeve. The official Top Gun logo appears on both the card and sleeve.
