The film follows Maverick, a gifted fighter pilot, as he confronts fierce rivalries, personal loss and the challenge of proving himself at the elite Top Gun school. Its legacy was reignited with Top Gun: Maverick in 2022, which earned a Best Picture nomination.

Shaped like the iconic Top Gun logo, the coin's coloured reverse displays the logo's bold design. Beneath the logo are the inscriptions '1986*2026' to the left and '40 YEARS' to the right, along with The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark. The obverse bears the Jody Clark effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, with the coin's weight, fineness, monetary denomination and 2026 year-date, flanked by the wing pattern from the Top Gun logo.

Specifications

Metal: 99.99% pure silver

Silver content: 1 troy oz

Monetary denomination: $1 TVD

Minimum gross weight: 31.107g

Maximum dimensions: 17.4 x 54.90mm

Maximum thickness: 4.60mm

Finish: Coloured, shaped

Maximum mintage: 2,500

Reverse designer: Lucas Bowers

Obverse designer: Jody Clark

Release date: 6 October 2026

TM & © 2026 PARAMOUNT PICTURES.
