The Perth Mint presents the Australian Emu 2026 1oz Silver Coloured Coin.

Endemic to Australia, the emu is the nation's largest living bird and the world's second largest. Unable to fly, it relies on long, powerful legs to sprint at nearly 50km per hour, while its coarse, hair-like feathers help it survive the outback's extreme temperature changes.

The coin's coloured reverse portrays an adult emu running across the Australian outback beneath a cloudy sky of blue and violet hues, with a shed and windmill amid the low grasses and rocky terrain. The design includes the inscription 'AUSTRALIAN EMU', the coin's weight, purity, 2026 year-date and The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark. The obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III.
