Gingerbread has become a delight of Christmas through centuries of English tradition and European folklore. Its warming spices made it a cherished treat of the festive season, evolving into the decorated gingerbread people and sugar-covered houses we enjoy today.

The coin's coloured reverse portrays a village of decorated gingerbread houses and candy canes, with gingerbread people carolling, sledding, building snowmen, carrying gifts and playing. Encased in the coin's centre is a colour-enamelled figurine of a gingerbread man. The reverse also includes the coin's weight, purity, 2026 year-date and The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark. The obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, the monetary denomination and a decorative pattern of stars encircling the gingerbread insert.

Antiqued finish: Each coin is individually antiqued to convey the surface abrasions of an ancient artefact, so the appearance of each coin may vary.
